It's Time to Get Fresh, Southwest Edmonton!

The Southwest Edmonton Farmers' Market launches for our sixth season this Wednesday, and we could not be more excited for another summer of fresh food, beautiful crafts, sunny evenings and a great community. This is our biggest season yet, with over 18 new vendors for you to explore, along with all of your old favourites.

For market shopping tips, be sure to check out this page to ensure your market visit is everything it should be. And remember, please leave Fido at home- no dogs are allowed where food is being served! 

  

The Sprouts Program for kids continues this week! Children between 4-12 will receive a $2 token every week to spend with our fruit and vegetable vendors. This week, our Sprouts recipe is Sprouts Scrumptious Signature Sauce. You can pick up your copy of the recipe at the Sprouts table when you check in! We will also have a bouncy castle and our friends from Puppets on a String on-site for some family entertainment, along with our balloon artists, hopscotch, and face painter. 

The Southwest Edmonton Farmers' Market aims to enhance and support our vibrant community. Check out how to engage with your neighbours this week! 

The Edmonton Food Bank will be in the Community Tent this week collecting donations and handing out free vegetable seeds as part of their Plant a Row, Grow a Row program. Stop by their tent to pick up some seeds to plant in your garden, and bring those veggies back to SWEFM during our Harvest Festivals in August and September. 

Servus Credit Union is proudly sponsoring the Southwest Edmonton Farmer’s Market again this year and will be on site near the community tent on opening day. This week, Servus will have their ‘Monster Head Knockdown’ challenge.  Try to knock down these terrifying and troublesome monsters. Once defeated, you will WIN a prize!  On top of all the fun, there will be a chance to win a $50 Home Depot gift card!

Three Southwest Edmonton MLAs, Dr. Bob Turner, Richard Feehan, and Thomas Dang, will be at market this week. They'll be on-site to meet with their constituents, collect donations for the Food Bank, and provide information about services available to those living in their ridings!
 
Steve and Dan's Fresh B.C. Fruit will be bringing apples, pears, strawberries, as well as their dehydrated apples and sparkling apple juice. 


 
Dargatz Family Farm has a variety of fresh produce, including carrots and potatoes, along with herb and tomato planters, eggs and presernces.
Holden Colony will be bringing a variety of vegetables, eggs and preserves.
S4 Greenhouses will be bringing their fresh greenhouse veggies. This week, try their cherry tomatoes, mini peppers and mini cucumbers for lunches. They're healthy and yummy bite size veggies, ready to wash and pack – no cutting necessary!

Effing Seafoods is a new vendor at SWEFM specializing in B.C. seafood. He'll have a variety of fish, along with oysters that have only been out of water for 48 hours!
Jerky Jerky will be bringing a variety of dried jerky products. They always have samples to try, so be sure to say hello! 
Sunworks Farm, a certified organic and certified humane farm, will have their fresh chicken – wholes and all cuts along with their beef and pork cuts.  This week, All of their Turkey Mettwurst is now only $5/package!  Mettwurst is a savory sausage and one of their family’s favorites.


Auntie Jean's Fudge is new at our market this season, and will be bringing a wide variety of flavours of her popular handmade fudge
Calico Baking is a new baker at SWEFM who specializes in artisan breads made from organic, locally sourced flour. They'll have Laurel's lemon scones, almond croissants, and savoury whole wheat croissants with either spinach & feta or Irving's ham and Swiss.
Their feature bread this week is Alberta Sourdough, a multigrain pan bread featuring local grains and seeds.

Celebrate, Gluten Free is the perfect option for those with gluten sensitivities. She always has a special treat available, so be sure to stop by!
Confetti Sweets is our resident specialty cookie vendor at SWEFM and will be serving up their delicious varieties this week.  Their feature flavour this month is a S'mores cookie that's only available until the end of May!
European Cakes is back this season with her delicious macarons and baked goods. 
Fresh 2 Share is a new baker at SWEFM, bringing swiss braided breads and a variety of other baked goods.
Prairie Mill Baking Co. makes all of his bread right in our neck of the woods!
Whether you're looking for a fantastic cinnamon bun or the best sourdough in Edmonton, Owen has a loaf of bread with your name on it!

Sweet Stuff will be bringing her delicious cupcakes, croissants, and cookies to market. Lindsay's mini cupcakes are the perfect bite-sized snack!
 
Café Bel-Air will be bringing fresh, handmade popsicles to market, including Mango Lassi, strawberry Lemonade and Avocado Coconut Lime. All of Cafe Bel-Air's popsicles are free of gluten and tree nuts, and they have vegan options available as well!
Crafty Cooks is a new vendor who will be bringing frozen soups, pastas, and other delicious take-home meals 
Cravings Gelato will be bringing their handmade gelato in a variety of summertime flavours.
Honest Dumplings is joining SWEFM again this season with their handmade dumplings in delicious flavours like Maple Pork Belly, Mixed Mushrooms with Truffle Oil, and Spicy Tofu with Peanuts!
Jamaican Chefmon is a new vendor this year, and will be bringing handmade Jamaican foods, including coconut drops, rum cake, Jamaican patties, jerk chicken spring rolls, and Jamaican sauces. 
Knosh will be bringing traditional British food, including scones, jars of clotted cream, strawberry custard cream tarts, pecan sticky buns, steak ale and potato pies, butter chicken pasties, beef and potato pasties, sausage rolls and pork pies.
Melodi's Kitchen is our favourite Turkish food vendor and will be bringing all of their popular dishes for you to try. 
Mini Kitchen specializes in delicious Indian and Thai food. Their samosas and butter chicken are absolutely delicious!
O'Delight is another new vendor this season, specializing in homemade Moroccan foods.
Sweet and Spicy is back this week with their hand-blended spice mixes, sauces, salsas and jellies. 
Square 1 Coffee will be serving up fresh coffee and selling bags of coffee beans from craft roasters around Western Canada and United States.  
Thai Sab Food Co. is joining us for the first time this week, and will be bringing Thai foods including curries, sticky rice, soups, appetizers and desserts. 
Theo's Greek Kouzina bringing their well-loved greek dips and treats to market this week.
Wilmar Farms will be back with their healthy hemp products, and are featuring their SunBlock made from quality Alberta grown hemp. SPF is created from Zinc Oxide, silk powder and shea butter. Wilmar Farms will donate $1.00 for every bottle sold to the Red Cross for Fort Mac fire survivors.
 
Bully Food Truck will be serving up drool-worthy comfort food using fresh and local ingredients.
Fat Franks will be ready to serve you their delicious hot dogs and smokies with all the fixings!
La Poutine is back at SWEFM to close of the season with their hand-cut fries and authentic poutine.
The Lemon Grass Grill will be joining us this week with their fantastic Vietnamese food

Original Canadian Kettle Corn, a farmers' market staple, will be here this week satisfying all of your cravings for this summer favourite!
Yellowbird Cafe Truck will be back at SWEFM this week with their friendly smiles and delicious Asian fusion cuisine.  

Ada's Soap Shop will be back with us this week with his luxurious handmade bath and body products. 
Carmen's Jewelry is joining us again this week with her leather handmade jewelry.    
Cheeky, the Cloth Diaper Company will be at market with their environmentally-friendly cloth diapers, wetbags and nursing pads. 
Dazzling Designs by Archana will be joining us this week with her gorgeous hand-sewn dresses, tops, pants, and accessories, as well as her hand-painted jewelry. 
Marigold Greenhouses is a new vendor at SWEFM, bringing over 50 types of herbs, along with bedding plants and succulents. Children can use their Sprouts tokens to get a fun food plant like chocolate mint at this stall!
Skinchantment is a new skincare vendor at SWEFM. They'll be bringing facial oils, facial sprays, dry masques, bath salts and beard oils available this week. All of Skinchantment's products are vegan, all natural and made with organic ingredients.
